Once the report has been uploaded to your profile, you can read your MY BEAUTY DNA test results. In the reporting we propose to analyze 14 different criteria group under 4 major families :
Each criterion is scored based on the scale below, indicating the level of genetic predisposition. Depending on the criteria, the report will designate your predisposition in two ways: positive genes, risk genes.
Trait, or phenotypic trait, is an obvious, observable, and measurable characteristic, like hair color, or height. Other traits are not immediately observable. They represent likelihoods/risks of specific characteristics that will be expressed in the future as a result of genetics, external environment and aging. While aging is inevitable, people age at a different pace and different aspects of skin aging and appearance depend on the combination of genetics, and environment that includes skin care, diet and lifestyle.
The DNA report
MY POSITIVE GENES
A “good” trait stands for a characteristic/feature that may positively affect our appearance, skin, wellness and health. For example, protection from cellulite is a good trait. People with some genetic variations appear to have lower amounts of cellulite than others with similar weight, diet and exercise. But just because a person has a genetic-based protection from cellulite does not mean the person cannot develop cellulite: it is a combination of genetics and lifestyle.
MY RISK GENES
A “risky” trait stands for a characteristic/feature that may negatively affect our appearance, skin, wellness and health. For example, collagen breakdown gradually happens with aging. Some people have genetic variations that result in increased activity of enzymes that break down collagen. Hence, these people are under higher risk of earlier collagen loss and wrinkles and may want to actively mitigate this risk by applying skincare that downregulates these enzymes and staying away from the sun.
